Limerick abandoned

Today´s meeting at Limerick has been abandoned as the track is waterlogged after further rain. This leaves just two poor N.H. cards from the U.K., are Carlisle and Southwell, with some small fields. At Carisle the most interesting race is the 3 mile chase at 15.25 CET. Sarando (Paul Webber/ Liam Treadwell) won this last year, but he is so unreliable it is hard to know what to expect. Out-and-out stayer Cappa Blue (Evan Williams/ Paul Moloney) is top-rated here, having fonkished third in the Welsh Grand Natoijnal and then fourth at Aintree, but he has not run since and YAcross ther Bay (Donald McCain/ Jadsomn Maguire) can be preferred. A useful hurdler, he won easily at Kelso 3 weeks ago on his attempt at fences and can score again today. McCain and Maguire are also represented by German-bred Kruzhulin in the beginners chase over 2 miles at 16.30, but he is by Sholokhov our of a Surumu mare and we suspect he may not enjoy the heavy ground, so fellow debutant Jet Master (Neil and Lucy Alexander), a strong front-runner, may prove his master today.

At Southwell Keith and James Reveley might land a double in the novice hurdles with Robbie at 14.45 and Harvey´s Hope at 15.50. Both are course specialists, but are penalised for winning here in the summer. The ground here is apparently good, which will suit The Fonz (Paula Robeson/ Jimmy McCarthy) who runs in the 2 1/2 mile handicap hurdle at 15.15. Prevuously a useful flat handicapper for Sir Michael Stoute, he won over this CD in June and as long as the ground is not soft, should go well today. Danger is Bandanaman (Alan Swinbank/ Rachael Green) off a very low weight.
