Godolphin runners at Lingfield

Godolphin are making a strong challenge at today´s all-weather meeting at Lingfield with runners in 4 races. The debutants Royal Empire and Albayan, both trained by Saeed bin Suroor and ridden by Mikael Barzalona, run in the two divisions of the maiden race over a mile that open the card at 15.00 CET and half an hour later. Both are well-bred and could win at the first time of asking, though they face some runners that have already shown decent form, such as Gestüt Ammerland´s Ukrainian Princess (Sir Henry Cecil/ Tom Queally) in the first division and Niger (Jeremy Noseda/ William Buick) in the second. They both finished runner-up last time and gave clear indication that they will not remain maidens for long. Later the rapidly improving Silent Moment (Saeed bin Suroor/ Silvestre de Sousa), carrying a 6 lbs penalty for a very easy win at Kempton last week, is the likely favourite for the handicap over 1 mile 5 furlongs at 17.00, where one of his opponents is Kirstin Rausing´s filly Albaraka (Sir Mark Prescott /Luke Morris, last seen finishing down the field at Hamburg. Finally Mahmood al Zarooni has two runners in the 2yo maiden at 17.30 - the debutant Ghostflower (Barzalona) and Sugar House (Ahmed Ajtebi), who has already shown some fair form.
