3 all-weather meetings today

There are 3 all-weather meetings today, but all of very low standard. Most interesting feature of Kempton´s card is the return of Richard Hughes after a winter spent in warmer climes. He has several promising rides, notably James Tate´s Hawawi in the mile handicap at 17.10 CET. Two longhots here who might be worth a small each-way interest are Jimmy the Lollipop (Neil Mulholland/ Micky Fenton) at 16.00 and Promised Wings (Chris Gordon/ Frankie McDonald) at 17.45. Promised Wings is a 3/4 brother to Payback (J. Butler/ Liam Keniry), who runs in the 3yo maiden that opens the Lingfield card at 1335. He was trained by Jens Hirschberger last season and ran in decent company, although it is hard to predict how he will fare here. Best race here is the 6 furlongs handicap at 15.45, which should go to top-weight Palace Moon (Wilf Knight/ Jim Crowley). The evening meeting at Wolverhampton is best left alone, although German-bred Querido (Paddy Butler/ Miss M. Bryant ) has a good each-way chance in the amateur riders handicap at 19.20.
