4 meetings today

A typical Monday with mainly very low grade racing. The best horse running in the U.K. today could be Icebuster (Rod and James Millman) who has top weight in the 3yo handicap over 10 furlongs at 16.50 CET at Ffos Las. He won so easily at Sandown last time that even an 11 lbs penalty may not stop him scoring again. Of course the 4 runners in the conditions race over a mile at 16.40 are all higher rated, but these reces are very tricky for the punter. With the Godolphin stable in great form, we select Secrecy /Saeed bin Suroor/ Ted Durcan), but from the betting point of view the race is best left alone. A better bet here could be course specialist Botham (Jim Goldie/ Jason Hart), who has top weight in the apprentice handicap at 17.10.

At Bath we fancy two recent CD winners to follow up- Enjoying (Richard Hannon/ Kieren O´Neill) in the 2yo handicap over 10 furlongs at 16.00, and Ginzan (Malcolm Saunders/ Jake Payne) in the apprentice handicap over 6 furlongs at 18.00.

There is a mixed meeting in Ireland at Roscommon, where the first 4 races are on the flat and the last 4 over jumps. Foot Soldier (Aidan and Joseph O´Brien) iscleary not one of the top juveniles in his powerful yard, but could still be good enough to win the 2yo maiden at 16.05. The grade 3 novice chase over 2 miles at 18.05 is the race of the day. Ex-French Cathodine Cayras, as a 4yo filly, gets all the allowances and could be dangerous off her low weight, but we prefer the proven form of Dr. Whizz (Tom Mullins/ Mark Walsh), who had no chance in the Kerry National last time but has obvious claims in this grade.
