Fairyhouse Easter meeting: third day

the Fairyhouse Easter meeting is on its third and final day today, and while the card is less inspiring than on the first 2 days, it is certainly far better than anything on offer in Britain. Once again the fast ground will be a problem, as almost all the Irish form we have so far is on soft/ heavy going.
Rigidity (Edward O´Grady/ Andrew McNamara) looked smart when winning at Gowran Park in February, but flopped at odds-on next time. A return to his earlier form would give him an excellent chance in the Grade Three 4yo hurdle at 17.55 CET, although Jessica Harrington´ s filly Chaperoned (Robbie Power) could be a major threat.
Willie Mullins saddles two likely sorts in the Grade Two novice hurdle at 18.30, the penalised Gagewell Flyer (Ruby Walsh), who ran poorly at Cheltenham after winning 3 successive races in Ireland, and the lightly-raced Lambro /Emmet Mullins). However we think than an each-way bet on the consistent Gift of Dgab (Tony Martin/ Davy Condon) might be the answer here.
The valuable handicap chase over 2 miles 1 furlong at 19.35 looks very open, with the two top-weights Psycho (Martin/ Davy Russell) and Scotsirish (Mullins/ Walsh) the class acts. and quite a few out of the handicap as a result. They include Peak Raider, who has win his last 3 races, but is taking a jump in class here. This could be another family winner, as he is trained by Tommy Carberry and is ridden by his youngest son Peter, whil siblings Paul and Nina also ride in a race named after their great-uncle. However our fancy is Osana (O`Grady/ McNamara) who looks very nicely handicapped on his best form.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Viking Splash - Drawn N Drank - Rudi Trucker
2. Race: Burnt Oil Babe - Drive On Jim - Captain Dreyfus
3. Race: Rigidity - Chaperoned - Twinlight
4. Race: Gagewell Flyer - Lambro - Last Instalment
5. Race: Alaivan - Jack Cool - Doctor Deejay
6. Race: Scotsirish - Peak Raider - Osana
7. Race: Theatre Guide - Sarsfield`S Ride - Pique Sous
