Inspection at Leicester

Today´s Leicester fixture, the only N.H. racing in Britain and Ireland, looks doubtful after overnight frost and a second inspection has been called for 12 noon CET. Should racing go ahead, the two divisions of the novice hurdle that open the card could be the most interesting events. In the first division at 13.50 CET two useful flat performers make their debut over sticks - Credit Swap (Venetia Williams/ Aidan Coleman) , winner of the Cambridgeshire last time out, and Desert Cry (Donald McCain/ Jason Maguire), who had good form in France and Italy. In the second division half an hour later Frascati Park (Nigel Twiston-Davies/ Paddy Brennan) sets the standard after his easy Ascot win, but our choice is Araldur (Alan King/ Robert Thornton), who has only run once in the last 2 years but had earlier smart form to his credit and gets 7 lbs.
