Once again, no U.K. N.H. racing today, but Navan on

As expected, the renewed onset of winter has put an end to any chance of jumps racing in the U.K. today- Ascot, Haydock and Newcastle have all been abandoned. There is still a slight chance of N.H. racing in Ireland at Navan, where we are waiting for the results of an early inspection. If racing goes ahead there, it will be an all-hurdles card, including two graded races.

Tomorrow´s Carlisle meeting has already been cancelled, while the two Irish tracks at Navan and Thurles - if they race at all- will again be staging all-hurdles cards. The prospects for any more jumps races in the U.K. in the run-up to Christmas now look very poor. Even all-weather racing is not immune. The last race at Wolverhampton last night had to be abandoned, and there is an inspection at Lingfield today (both because of ice on the track).
later: NAVAN ON!
