Navan today

Navan has passed an inspection this morning and goes ahead with an all-hurdles card. Main feature is the Navan Novice Hurdle at 14.15 CET over 2 1/2 miles, in which the unbeaten Hidden Cyclone (Paul Nolan/ Andrew McNamara) is clearly the one to beat. he is stepping up in trip here, but is the class act in the field. German-bred Sweet Shock (Michael O´Hare/ Andrew Lynch) is an improving handicapper moving up in grade, while Fully Funded (Noel Meade/ Paul Carberry), who has also won his last two races, won over CD last time, so has no stamina problems. The Tara Hurdle over the same distance at 14.50 is another graded race. German-bred Aitmatov (Meade/ Carberry) is the best horse in the line-up here, but ran only on Wednesday, so this race could come a bit soon. He shares top weight with Clan Tara (Paul Nolan/ Aidan Cawley), who has not been seen since easily winning a beginners chase a year ago, but was previously very consistent over hurdles. On ratings, Made in Taipan (Tom Mu llins/ Paul Townend) is very well in, but he last ran in the Grand National, and that is likely to be his main target again. With so many question marks here, consistent Son Amix (Tom and BJ Cooper) is the each-way suggestion.
