Lingfield, Kempton and Taunton

3 tracks in the U.K. today, with racing on the all-weather at Lingfield and Kempton and over jumps at Taunton. At the last-named track, the novice hurdle at 14.15 CET has a decent field and the two German-bred runners Iolith (Alan King/ Robert Thornton) and Swinging Hawk (Ian Williams/ Dougie Costello) both have chances, especially the former, who was group class on the flat in Germany and created a favourable impression when winning last time out. The most valuable event on the card is the handicap hurdle for conditional jockeys at 16.30 which has attracted a very hot field. Paul Nicholls always does well at his local track and his Organisateur (Ian Popham), who won over CD last time out, must be respected, but he has a huge weight. Olofi (Tom George/ Peter Toole), Dynaste (Pavid Pipe/ Conor O´Farrell) and Monetary Fund (Nicky Henderson/ RJ Killoran) all look dangerous.

The mile handicap at 15.45 is the best race at Lingfield, and Gallantry (Jane Chapple-Hyam/ Jimmy Quinn) and Blue Moon (Kevin Ryan/ Franny Norton) are both last-time-out winners now facing stronger opposition; they should go well, but may find it hard to catch front-runner Miami Gator (Elaine Burke/ Luke Morris). We also like Loki´s Revenge uner top weight in the 2yo handicap at 14.35 here; he beat Forty Proof (Wilf Knight/ Shane Kelly) easily enough last time and can confirm this form under the revised weights. while Steps (Michael Jarvis/ Jack Mitchell), an easy maiden winner last time, may be the main danger.

At Kempton this evening, the 6 furlongs handicap at 19.40 could go to top weight Anne of Kiev (Jeremy Gask/ Steve Drowne), who has won her last two races and last time easily accounted for Feelin Foxy, a winner yesterday. Vhujon (David Evans/ Steven Donohoe) has been very busy lately but keeps his form well and has been in the money all recent starts, including yesterday. He looks the main threat.
