Rest of today´s action

The remainder of the Aintree card is also interesting, especially the 2 3/4 mile handicap chase at 15.35, also over the National fences. This is another open race with 16 runners, but there could be a German-bred winner, as both Moon over Miami (Charlie Mann/ Noel Fehily) and Victoria´s Groom (Lucy Wadham/ Jason Maguire) have a chance, as does ex-German Commemoration Day (Gary and Josh Moore), running off an extremely light weight and in our view an interesting each-way bet. The opening maiden hurdle at 13.05 also has German elements, as both Fight Club (Bernard Llellewyn/ Isabel Tompsett) and Swinging Hawk (Ian Williams/ Dougie Costello) meke their debut over sticks. The latter is out of the group winner Saldenschwinge, while the former, starting a new career at the age of 9 (!) was a group winner in Germany as a 3yo. This is quite a tricky race, although ex-French Current Event, representing the all-conquering Paul Nicholls/ Noel Fehily combination, looks certain to start a warm favourite; however he is a 3yo and we are not keen on that age group against their elders over hurdles.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Current Event - Midnight Opera - Bollin Felix
2. Race: Magic Sky - Stormin Exit - Private Be
3. Race: Keki Buku - Son Of Flicka - Washington Irving
4. Race: Meanus Dandy - Maljimar - Merigo
5. Race: Fine Parchment - Made In Japan - Categorical
6. Race: Devotion To Duty - Don`T Rush It - Strumble Head
7. Race: With Grace - Inthesettlement - Piggy Back

Another German-bred we like today is Quijano´s own-brother Quicuyo (Peter Monteith/ Paddy Aspell) in the handicap hurdle at 15.30 at Kelso. He has not run for a while, was out of form when last seen, and has never shone at this track; but he has dropped to a very lenient weight and could well surprise at a decent price.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Lady Bluesky - Scarvagh Rose - Glaced Over
2. Race: Alfie Flits - Blackpool Billy - Ashammar
3. Race: Ballymacduff - Glingerbank - Role On
4. Race: Quinder Spring - More Equity - Club Class
5. Race: Livvy Inn - Toshi - Best Prospect
6. Race: Diamond D`Amour - Identity Parade - What A Dream
7. Race: Colorado Kid - Drum Bustible - Trucking Along

The card at Towcester is modest - Malindi Bay (Kim Bailey/ Sean Quinlan) in the mares novice hurdle at 13.25 is our best bet there - but there are some decent races in Ireland at Navan. The big betting race at the Irish track is the Troytown Chase, a 3 mile handicap at 15.45 with 18 runners. Almost anything could win this, our fancy is bottom-weight Glenquest(T O´Brien/ Adrian Leigh).

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Malindi Bay - Kaituna - My Viking Bay
2. Race: Abbey Dore - Ballymorn - Flying Squad
3. Race: Big Talk - Antoella - Royal Torbo
4. Race: Woodlands Genpower - Kilvergan Boy - Doctor Disny
5. Race: Miss Saffron - Topflight Wildbird - What`S Occurrin
6. Race: Handtheprizeover - Beauchamp Viking - Thievery
7. Race: Stanley`S Choice - Don`T Hang About - Tech Zinne
