German runners in France today

the German-trained runners were all an embarrassing flop yesterday in Fontainebleau, but generally they have been very successful this month in France and could well carry on the good work at Saint-Cloud today. There are
3 listed races on the card, all with 2 German runners declared. The best chance of a German victory in our view is in the 2yo mile race at 14.10 in which Eigelstein (Peter Schiergen/ Andrasch Starke) and Stark Danon (Waldemar Hickst/ Dominique Boeuf) face 6 French opponents as well as Barista (Mick Channon/ Olivier Peslier) from the UK. Both German juveniles are well above average and we would not be at all surprised to see them finish first and second. The 7 furlongs race for 3yo fillies at 14.40, in which Mountain Rose (Mario Hofer/ Maxime Guyon) and Diatribe (Werner Baltromei/ Boeuf) are engaged, and more so, the 2000 metres race also for 3yo fillies at 15.10 with Good Hope (Schiergen/ Alexis Badel) and Amazing Beauty (Michael Figge/ Mikael Barzalona), look much more difficult, and the German fillies will do well to be placed here.
