All-weather racing today

Kempton´s all-weather this afternoon is now the only fixture in Britain and Ireland, but interesting features are hard to find. The 3 races for 2yo maidens are possibly the most interesting events. In the fillies´ race at 15.45 CET, Fairy Familiar (Luca Cumani/ Kieren Fallon) and Palais Glide (Richard Hannon/ Jimmy Fortune) have both shown a certain mount of talent, but possibly the well-bred debuntants Encore View (Andrew Balding/ David Probert) and Echo Ridge (Ralph Beckett/ Jim Crowley) can prove better. In the first division of the mile race at 16.20, For What (David Lanigan/ Chris Catlin), Frederick William (Peter Makin/ Steve Drown) and Top Diktat (Sir Michael Stoute/ Fallon) are the likeliest candidates, while in the second division, half an hour later, Sinfonico (Hannon/ Fortune) and Groomed (William Haggas/ Eddie Ahern) are the obvious form pick, while debutant Towering Storm (Ger Butler/ Steve Donohoe), from a stable in good form, could be a danger.

The handicaps are all very low grade with the exception of the 1 1/2 mile race at 17.50. Alsadaa, ridden by Ian Mongan for his mother, has won his last 2 starts here, but they were both over 2 miles last winter, since when he has been well beaten over jumps. Spensley (James Fanshawe/ Fallon) looks far more dangerous; he has also won his last 2 races, but they were both recently and over this CD. However the only 3yo in the field, Iron Condor (James Eustace/ Luke Morris) , also a CD specialist, could be a huge threat off a very light weight.
