Goodwood, Lingfield and Sedgefield (N.H.)

It is afternoon racing only from now on (except at the all-weather tracks at Kempton and Wolverhampton) and the main event today is the listed race for 2yo´s over 7 furlongs at 16.45 CET. In theory this race should lie between Big Issue (Richard Hannon/ Richard Hughes) and Surrey Star (Ron Teal/ Liam Keniry), both group-placed last time, but our selection is Titus Mills( Brian Meehan/ Martin Dwyer), narrow winner at 16/1 of a maiden race at Ascot on his only start. Obviousy this is much tougher, but the stable´s juveniles are in great form and this one has been entered in top races.

There is also flat racing at Lingfield where the first 5 races are on turf and the last 3 on the all-weather. Frankie Dettori is the big attraction, and his main reason for riding here is Sahafh in the 2o fillies maiden at 18.40. The other two Godolphin runners Coin Box (Antioco Murgia) and Pencarrow (Royston Fffrench) are the dangers, together with Secret Love (Mikael Magnusson/ George Baker), who was an excellent second on his debut.

They go over jumps at Sedgefield, where the novice hurdle at 16.00 looks the most interesting race. Grand Zouki (George Moore/ Barry Keniry) was an easy winner over this CD last time, but is penalised as a result and not certain to confirm the placings with runner-up Cailin Na Ree (Mike Todhunter/ Graham Lee). However Henro Boy (Michael O´Hare/ Andrew Lynch) comes here with good form in Ireland to his credit and can beat the lot of them. There are some German-breds with chances here, notably Moon Melody in the staying chase at 18.20 and Tiger King in a handicap chase over 2 miles at 17.45.
