Haydock, Yarmouth and Perth (N.H.)

Irish trainers almost swept the board yesterday at Perth, and it could be more of the same today, the second day of the summer jumps meeting at the pretty Scottish track. Gordon Elliott and Paul Carberry teamed up for 3 winners and they can continue the good work with Chicago Grey in the 3 mile novice chase at 16.50 CET. He is trying this distance for the first time, but has been running in top company and can outclass this opposition. One of the stable´s winners yesterday was King Roonah, and he is also entered in the 2 1/2 mile handicap chase half an hour later under a 7 lbs penalty. If he turns out again, he should score; otherwise we go with Quito du Tresor (Lucinda Russell/ Campbell Gillies), who has the unusual form figures of 3131313; this does not of course mean that he is certain to win this time, but he should certainly give a good account of himself.
The flat racing this afternoon is low quality, but Michael Bell and Hayley Turner can win the 7 furlongs handicap at 16.10 with the consistent Tell Halaf, slightly unlucky last time, and can follow up an hour later in the 3yo handicap over 9 furlongs with Al Dafa, but this race looks trickier, and both Aktia (Luca Cumani/ Jean-Pierre Guillambert) and the unexposed Mme de Stael (Sir Mark Prescott/ Seb Sanders) could be dangerous.
Bst rc t Haydock is the mil hndovap at 16.30, which is very opn and ll 8 runners cn b given a chance. Ezdeyaad (Alan Swnbank/ Peter Mcdonald) is in great form and has won 4 of his last 5 races, but he is lumbered with top weight as a result, and the lightly-raced 3yo´s Ginger Jack (Mark Johnston/ Joe Fanning) - who was well behind him last time - and especially Rumool (Clive Brittain/ Neil Callan) must be feared. Ryan Moore is at Haydock, primarily to ride for Sir Michael Stoute, who has Official Style and Warm Memories entered in the two maiden races at 17.00 and 17.30 respectively; they are not among the stable´s stars but both look capable of winning a race soon, possibly today.
