Listed race at Newbury

There are 6 meetings today in the U.K. but the only better class event is the listed Lord Weinstock Memorial for 3yo fillies over 10 furlongs at 16.05 CET at Newbury. Top-rated here is Stan Moore´s Lady Darshaan (Richard Hughes), who ran in both the English and Irish 1,000 Guineas and was not disgraced in either. This is a drop in grade and move up in distance, and we prefer the sponsor´s Eleanore Duse (Sir Michael Stoute/ Ryan Moore), third last time in the Musidora Stakes, with Pink Symphony (Paul Cole/ Jamie Spencer) - who prefers to run here than in the French Oaks on Sunday- in fourth. Kithonia (Henry Cecil/ Tom Queally) won her only start - at Salisbury last September-. easily enough, but this is a different kettle of fish, while consistent Deirde (John Gosden/ William Buick) looks likely to make the frame.

At Nottingham , the 3yo handicap over a mile at 17.00 looks the hottest race, even with only 6 runners. Bottom weight Count Bertoni (Steve Gollings/ Paul Hanagan) won a handicap over this CD last time, but the opposition looks much stronger this time, and we prefer Bintalwaadi (Ed Dunlop/ Richard Hills), an easy all-weather winner two months ago.

The Yarmouth card is uninspiring, but Motrice, runner-up at Lingfield last time, can keep up Sir Mark Prescott´s and Seb Sanders´ successful strike rate stepped up to 13/4 miles at 18.00. Frankie Dettori has just one ride today, Godolphin´ s Al Aasifh in the opening 2yo maiden at 20.20 at Haydock´s evening meeting, and the hint should be taken, although he will be at very short odds. He was hampered when third on his debut at Newmarket.
There are also two N.H. meetings this evening, and Jonjo O´Neill could possibly score at both; his best chances are Knock em Dead and Spate River, at 20.40 and 22.10 rspectively at Uttoxeter, and Khazar in the handicap hurdle at 20.30 at Fontwell. Tony McCoy rides the first two and Richie McLernon the last-named.
