Goodwood and Lingfield this afternoon

two flat meetings this afternoon, and easily the best racing is at Goodwood with two listed events for 3yo´s. The fillies race over 10 furlongs at 15.35 CET and the colts over a furlong further at 16.45. Godolphin seem well placed to win both races. In the former event, they run Wedding March (Saeed bin Suroor/ Frankie Dettori), not seen out since finishing a close fourth in the Prix Marcel Boussac on "Arc" day at Longchamp.

This form should be sufficient for her to defeat Thaahira (Michael Jarvis/ Tagdh O´Shea), an easy maiden winner at Chester, who should be better suited by the fast going than the Pivotal filly Pipette (Andrew Balding/ Richard Hughes), well below form in the 1,000 Guineas. Godolphin have two runners in the colts´ race, both trained by Mahmoud al Zarooni. Eavesdropping (Ahmed Ajtebi) has won his only race, a minor event at Lingfield, and the stable´s first string is clearly Frankie Dettori´s mount Rewilding, who like Wedding March, has been transferred from André Fabre´s stable. Rewilding, a Tiger Hill half-brother to Dar re Mi, was third in the Prix Noailles, and again the French form looks good enough. Simenon (Balding/ LIam Keniry) and Waseet (John Dunlop/ Ted Durcan) were both beaten in the Sandown Derby Trial, and Kalypso King (Richard Hannon/ Hughes) could be the main danger, even though he has been off the track since October. Whenever Dettori teams up with John Gosden, punters are advised to sit up and take notice and we therefore expect That´s My Style, despite having shown very little in her 3 starts so far, to play a leading role in the maiden race for 3yo fillies at 17.20.

At Lingfield, the first 4 races are run on turf and the last 3 on polytrack. We expect the two divisions of the 1 1/2 mile handicap at 14.50 and 16.00 to go to the last-time-out winners Mediterranean Sea (John Jenkins/ Ryan Moore) and Galliotto (Chris Wall/ George Baker) respectively. The two jockeys can go on to further success with Goose Green at 16.35 (Baker) and Mishrif (Moore) for Jenkins again at 18.20.
