Yarmouth, Lingfield (a.w.) and Nottingham (evening)

Local trainer Christine Dunnett is always one to watch at Yarmouth, and she has two runners in each of two 3yo handicaps this afternoon - Danzoe (Tom McLaughlin) and Southwark Newshawk (Kieren Fox) in the 5 furlongs race at 15.40 CET and Speedyfix (Adrian McCarthy) and Avec Moi (Fox) over 6 furlongs half an hour later. On form Danzoe has the best chance of these but all four should be considered, although we think that Mark Johnston´s Aqua Vitae (Frankie Dettori) is the most likely winner of the later event. Sir Michael Stoute sends his well-bred debutant Loyalty to contest the 10 furlongs maiden for 3yo´s under Ryan Moore at 17.10, and although the stable´s runners usually come on a lot for their first run, he does not appear to have much to beat here.

Lingfield´s all-weather card this afternoon is very undistinguished, the most interesting event being the 7 furlongs handicap for 3yo fillies at 17.00. Top-weight Mount Juliet (Marco Botti/ Martin Dwyer) has a chance, but we prefer Mary´s Pet (Jon Akehurst/ Seb Sanders), who made all to win easily last time at Wolverhampton and can defy the 6 lbs extra weight she has been given for that success.

At Nottingham this evening, the 10 furlongs handicap at 20.05 is easily the most interesting race. With the stable in red-hot form, Sohcanhtoa (Richard Hannon/ Richard Hughes) is likely to start favourite after his good second place in a similar event at Doncaster, but the lightly-raced Perpetually (Mark Johnston/ Joe Fanning) and Cygnet (Luca Cumani/ Kieren Fallon) both look very dangerous. Perpetually, who has top-weight, was below form on the all-weather, but is unbeaten in two starts on turf and is possibly better than a handicapper, while Cygnet won here as a 2yo, but has only run once since. another danger is the ex-Aidan O´Brien Sirgarfieldsobers (named after the world´s greatest cricketer), who is now trained by Brian Rothwell
