N.H. racing at Ffos Las and Towcester

Tim Vaughan has prospects of an across-the-card double at today´s two N.H. meetings. At Towcester his The Ferbane Man (Dean Coleman) has an obvious chance in the beginners chase at 15.50 CET. He has been placed on all his British starts and previously had decent form in Irish point-to-points. Alan King probably prefers to forget the 2009-10 season altogether, as nothing went right for the stable, but he can start the new season on a winning note with Lidar (Robert Thornton), who has little to beat in the novice hurdle at 17.20. Also at Towcester, ex-German Early Wings (Caroline Bailey/ Andrew Thornton) has an each-way chance in the handicap chase at 16.50.

Tim Vaughan´s chance at Ffos Las in the evening is Coq Hardi (Tom O´Brien) in the handicap chase at 20.50. The one he has to beat is Heron´s Well (Rebecca Curtis/ Tony McCoy) who has won 3 of his last 4 races. McCoy has an excellent strike rate when teaming up with Curtis and has two more promising rides for the stable in Native Taipan at 18.20 and debutant Maniken Eros in the bumper at 21.05. The champion can also take the mares handicap hurdle at 20.30 on Nicky Henderson´s Madame Mado.
