Longchamp opens for new season

France´ s top racecourse Longchamp opens its doors for the first time in 2010 today, a clear sign that the flat season is now getting into top gear. Main event is the listed Prix Lord Seymour over 2400 metres at 16.10, which might go to Pouvoir Absolu (Elie Lellouche/ Antony Crastus), but most interest will be concentrated on the 4 races for 3yo´s - two for unraced 3yo´s at 14.05 and 14.35 over 2000 metres, and two "courses B" over a mile at 15.05 and 15.40, as quite likely there will be horses running here which will be seen in the top races later on. There are only two German runners in action here, both trained by Werner Baltromei and partnered by Dominique Boeuf- At Batal and Part of Pentire, who run in the two divisions of the mile handicap for 4yo´s at 13.35 and 17.20 respectively. As always, these are very tough races, but the latter has been in good form in France and could run into the money again.
