the leading Paris jumps track stages one of its top meetings today, with the Prix du President de la Republique, handicap chase over 4700 metres at 15.08, the big betting race of the afternoon. With 20 runners, this looks almost as difficult to solve as the Aintree Grand National, with which it is often compared (although it is over a much shorter distance). Moscantino (Michel Rolland/ Regis Schmidlin) is a very tentative suggestion.
The Prix Murat over 4400 metres at 15.40 is the most prestigious event. Mail de Bievre (Bertrand de Balanda/ Christophe Pieux) beat several of these opponents easily enough in the Prix Toytown last time, and can follow up here. From the German point of view, the concluding listed hurdle race over 3900 metres at 17.10 is the most interesting event, with Mario Hofer´s Atamane (Xavier Hondier) facing 8 opponents. He ran much better than the placing suggests last time and should certainly run into the money. Zaiyad ( Christo Aubert/ Pieux) looks the main danger.
