All-weather racing at Kempton and Dundalk

Kempton traditionally puts on a strong card on Easter Saturday and today is no exception. Main feature is the listed mile race for 4yo and older fillies and mares at 16.15.Chantilly Tiffany is a familiar name to German racegoers, having won at Düsseldorf and Baden-Baden in 2008; last season was less successful and she was well beaten on her final start at Baden-Baden. It is intersting tat sh stays in trainimg at th f 6, bit she is now traine by John Gosen and will b prtnered by his new stable jocky William Buick. If back to her old form, she has an obvious chance, but on 2009 running we have to prefer Shamwari Lodge (Richard Hannon/ Richard Hughes), only beaten about 3 lengths in a Group Two at Longchamp´s Arc weekend. Island Sunset (William Muir/ Martin Dwyer)is a bit of an unknown quantity here; she is unbeaten in 4 starts but taking a huge leap in class.

The card opens with two decent conditions races for 3yo´s also over a mile. There are 6 runners in each, but the fillies race at 15.05 arguably has the stronger field; Pipette (Andrew Balding/ Jimmy Fortune) is being aimed at the 1,000 Guineas, in which case she has to run well, but Clairvoyance, Clarietta and Bint Doyen all look dangerous. The colts race 35 minutes later should mainly concern Azizi and Classic Colori. The big betting race is the 7 furlongs handicap at 16.50. With 16 runners the draw will play a mjor role and we would be inclined to ignore any horse drawn below 8, e.g. the consistent Autumn Blades. Our three main fancies here are Ceremonial Jade (Marco Botti/ Andrea Atzeni), drawn 14, Brave Echo (Mike Atterton/ Jim Crowley), drawn 10 and especially Benandonner (Mike Murphy/ Brian McHugh), drawn 11, who raced on the wrong side at Doncaster last week.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Clarietta - Pipette - Bella Swan
2. Race: Azizi - Classic Colori - Planet Red
3. Race: Shamwari Lodge - Chantilly Tiffany - Please Sing
4. Race: Bravo Echo - Rileyskeepingfaith - Autumn Blades
5. Race: Duellist - Admiral Cochrane - Shamir
6. Race: Kristallo - Cold Turkey - Oxford City
7. Race: Last Sovereign - Prince Of Thebes - Desert Kiss

There is also all-weather racing in Ireland, with many track specialists entered at Dundalk. The best race here is the conditions event over 5 furlongs at 16.35, in which British challenger Green Manalishi (Kevin Ryan/ Jamie Spencer), runner-up in a listed race at Lingfield last time, is the likely favourite. However on last October´s CD form he has little if anything in hand of Santo Padre (David Marnane/ Colm O´Donoghue). German-bred Isabellareine has an each-way chance in the apprentice handicap at 17.40. She will be partnered by Joseph O´Brien, whose father Aidan has good chances in the next two races with Andatino in the 3yo handicap at 18.10 and Full of Hope in the mile fillies maiden at 17.40. Although the O´Brien stable has started the season slowly, we make Full of Hope our best bet at this meeting., as she already has a race under her belt.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Future Impact - Unlikely Hero - Catalpa Sail
2. Race: Desert Ben - Partner - Historic Occasion
3. Race: Green Manalishi - Santo Padre - Luisant
4. Race: Crusoe`S Return - Serpentaria - Ghost Mist
5. Race: Luigina Immacolata - Morning Time - Bluebell Rock
6. Race: Andantino - Ghetto Gospel - Emrani
7. Race: Full Of Hope - Endless Expanse - Masela
8. Race: Indian Wind - Kenton Street - Philosophers Guest
