Saint-Cloud stages first group race of 2010

the 2010 flat season is starting to get into top gear and today sees the first group race of the season, the Prix Exbury over 10 furlongs at 15.40 at Saint-Cloud. German-bred La Boum (Robert Collet/ Thomas Huet) must have a good chance here, especially as she has a fitness advantage over most of her rivals, having run at Cagnes sur mer. The 7yo daughter of Monsun was also 7th in last year´s "Arc", which is better form than boasted by anything else in the race. The Aga Khan´s Ashalanda (Alain de Royer-Dupré/ Christophe Lemaire) looks the main danger. There are also two listed races for 3yo´s over 2100 metres on the card. Mark Johnston sends Marie de Medici (Greg Fairley) over from N. England to contest the fillies´ race at 14.35 and she must have a fair chance.
