N.H. racing at Carlisle, Wincanton and Clonmel (Ireland)

Normally the safest tactic for the punter at Wincanton is to back all Paul Nicholl´s runners blind. However he only has one runner today - Gullible Gordon (Nick Scholfield) in the novice chase over an extended 3 miles at 17.05 CET. So that is a tip in itself, especially as he is the highest rated horse in the field of 5. However this is still quite tricky, as Gullible Gordon has now failed to complete twice, while his two most dangerous opponents, top-weight Richards Sundance (Vic Dartnall/ Jack Doyle) and Blazing Bailey (Alan King/ Robert Thornton) both won well last time out.

The former scored over this CD and is a tentative suggstion, although Blazing Bailey was easily the best of these over hurdles. Best bet here should be Ciceron (Venetia Williams/ Aidan Coleman) in the handicap hurdle at 16.35; he scored very easily last week at Bangor and can follow up under a penalty. German-bred White on Black has not run for ages and is best watched, but Gaspara (David Pipe/ Greg Supple) is an interesting outsider, despite appalling form figures. He has been dropped 40 lbs since his 2007 heyday (when he won the Imperial Cup and thn at Cheltnham) and has akways shown his best form at this time of year.

t Crlisle, Donld McCain can tae th two novice hburdles thatopen the card, with dge of Tome (John Kington) at 15.10 and Tara Royal (P Lane) half an hour later. Rose Dobbin is very selective with her runners, but Middleton Dene ran a good race last time and can win the beginners chase at 16.15 with Graham Lee in the saddle.
In Ireland, Ruby Walsh has some promising rides at Clonmel and can win the handicap chase at 17.45 on top-weight The Corby Glenn, an easy winner last time, and the beginners chase half an hour later on Tony Martin´s Psycho. The mares beginners chase at 17.10 looks interesting and should mainly concern Coscorrig (A Lynch/ RT Dunne) and Kind oscar (IJ and JW Hannon), both of when showed up well last time and meet lesser opposition now.
