N.H. racing at Ayr, Chepstow and Limerick (Ireland)

The other 3 N.H. meetings today pale into insignificance beside the card at Sandown - not to mention next weeks events at Cheltenham. However it is interesting that David Pipe sends his regular jockey Tom Scudamore to Chepstow where they can take the opening 3 mile novice hurdle on German-bred Ortolan at 15.20. Being by Next Desert out of a Monsun mare, he should stay well enough. The same combination also has prospects with Very Cool in the handicap hurdle at 17.40. Despite top-weight and miserable form figures, he meets very feeble opposition here.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Quideo De Touzaine - Lord Tomnoddy - Qroktou
2. Race: Anay Turge - Munching Mike - Gunnasayso
3. Race: Maktu - My Friend Sandy - Khumbu
4. Race: Chance Du Roy - Pass Me A Dime - Prideus
5. Race: Lord Crewe - Apocal - Colline De Fleurs
6. Race: Sir Winston - Quiet Bob - Incentivise

At Ayr, where the ground has totally dried out, it is a question of finding horses that can act in these conditions after months of soft and heavy going. Glingerbank (Nicky Richards/ Brian Harding) must have a chance in the handicap hurdle at 16.15, while Fred Bojangles (Ms. Hamilton/ Brian Hughes) and Knockavilla (Howard Johnson/ Ryan Mania) - runner-up now 4 times running - are the form choices in the 2 mile handicap chase at 16.50; however on this ground Charingworth (Ferdy Murphy/ Graham Lee) can possibly beat them both. He was well behind Fred over this CD last time, but now meets him on much better terms.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Drussell - Si Bien - Kellystown Lad
2. Race: Stormin Exit - Storymaker - Quito Du Tresor
3. Race: Glingerbank - Son Of Flicka - Quick Will
4. Race: Fred Bojangals - Knockavilla - Charingworth
5. Race: Humbie - Turtle Spirit - Solway Ally
6. Race: Seize - Dawn Ride - Rosie All Over
7. Race: Yes Tom - I`M Frank - Saindor

Ruby Walsh may be riding at Sandown, but there could still be a winner for the family at Limerick, as Our Girl Salley, ridden by his sister Katie, is our choice for the mares bumper for lady jockeys at 16.45. We also fancy that Davy Russell can land a double on the first two races with Paul Nolan´s Point of Light at 14.05 and Charlie Swan´ s Stonethrower half an hour later.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Point Of Light - Are You The One - Hartstone Street
2. Race: Final Question - Stonethrower - Knockbrack Vic
3. Race: Liss Na Tintri - Royal Crew - Guzzle An Go
4. Race: Romanesco - Prince Of Forwards - Castlefort
5. Race: Carlowsantana - Keats Dream - Morereadythanilook
6. Race: Our Girl Salley - Oilily - Moi Desire
