German runners in France today

Several runners trained in Germany at the French provincial meeting at Compiegne today. In the mile claimer for 3yo´s at 15.40 Turfliebe (Miroslav Rulec/ Daniele Porcu) and French Kiss (Norbert Sauer/ Henk Grewe) both run; they are good enough for this grade, but are both coming off a long break and may have a fitness disadvantage compared to the local runners. An hour later, in the claimer for lady jockeys over the same trip for older horses, there are 3 German runners- Owentuo (Stefan Wegner/ Steffi Hofer), Daudet (Hans Blume/ Delphine Santiago) and Romantic Man (Rulec/ Hana Mouchova). Owentuo is the best of these on ratings, but he has to give 4 kilos to the other two, which will not be easy. The best races on the card are the two course B events for 3yo´s, also over a mile; the most interesting runner could be the Wertheimer brothers´ Evaporation (Carlos Laffon-Parias/ Olivier Peslier) in the fillies´ race at 14.35, one of the stable´s big hopes for 2010.
