Final day of Dubai Carnival

Today is the final day of the Dubai Racing Carnival, with a 3 weeks break now until March 27th when the Dubai World Cup and other top races will be run. Main event today is the Group Two Zabeel Mile on turf at 19.45 CET. Mike de Kock has been upstaged by Godolphin the past few days here, but can get his own back here with Imbongi (Christophe Soumillon), who has been runner-up the last twice. However if Rio de la Plata (Daeed bin Suroor/ Franki Dettori) is back to his old form, he would be a serious danger.

Otherwise the Meydan Masters is the most interesting feature, a series of 4 races for international jockeys. German stables are here represented by Abbashiva (Torsten Mundry/ Ahmed Ajtebi) in the 7 furlongs handicap at 16.40 and Northern Glory (Wolfgang Figge/ Corey Brown) in the 11 furlongs handicap at 17.50. Both of them ran well here last time, and should be in the money, but both races (with maximum fields as usual) look very open, and Saeed bin Suroor saddles 4 runners in each, so winning will not come easy.
