3 all-weather meetings today

There is all-weather racing this afternoon at Lingfield and this evening at Wolverhampton and Dundalk (Irelnd) but the standard is generally low all round. The best race is the 5 furlongs handicap at 19.10 CET at Wolverhampton. Top-weight Le Toreador (Kevin Ryan/ Neil Callan) is the form choice here, having won over this trip a month ago and also scoring over this CD last October, but he has gone up a lot in the weights and meets several opponents who are coming off a break but had good form last season, such as Royal Intruder, who won 4 races in 2009, all with todays jockey Richard Hughes in the saddle. Medicean Man (Jeremy Sask/ Jimmy Quinn) was also a multiple winner last year, but our selection is Noverre to Go /Tom Dascombe/ Richard Kingscote), who has been off since September but ran in good company last year.

The 3yo handicap, also over 5 furlongs, looks the most interesting event this afternoon at Lingfield. Ballyvonane (Luke Dace/ Liam Keniry) won from Tulip Explosion (Derek Shaw/ Martin Lane) over this CD last time, but the latter is now better off at the weights and can gain revenge.

At Dundalk there are some useful performers in the 1 1/2 mile conditions race at 22.00, including two German-breds, Dancera and Grantsville. 12yo Emmpat (Charliw Swan/ Billy Lee) was behind Dancera last time, but has a big pull in the weights, but the one to beat is surely bottom-weight Estephe (Tommy Stack/ Johnny Murtagh). Stack started this season by winning with his first four runners at the Curragh last Sunday and Estephe can continue the sequence.
