German runners in France today

Today is the penultimate fixture of the Cagnes sur mer winter meeting and there are more German runners engaged at the Riviera track. Werner Baltromei, who has had an excellent meeting, runs Amuse Gueule (Yann Lerner) under the Perruchot name in the 3400 metres claiming race at 14.05. He won here last week and should win again, but will be at a very short price.

There are 2 German runners in the mile handicap at 16.40, Part of Pentire (Baltromei/ Dominique Boeuf) and Daudet (Hans Blume/ Gaetan Masure), both runners-up here last time. They could both be in the money again, but with 18 runners, this is a very open race, as is the next division at 17.10, also with a field of 18. Lasse (Pavel Vovcenko/ Davy Bonilla), running in the popular colours of Stall Onextwo, is the German runner here, while Royal Dignitary (David Nicholls/ Ioritz Mendizibal) is a dangerous British opponent.
