Prix d´Amerique today at Vincennes

This column does not usually concern itself with trotting, but there is one exception- the last Sunday in January, the date for the world´s most important trotting race, the Prix d´Amerique at Vincennes. Today´s edition, with prize money of one million euros, and due to start at 15.50, has 18 runners and looks very open. Likely favourite is last year´s winner Meaulnes du Corta (Pierre Levesque), who has clearly been brought along this season with just this one race in mind. Most dangerous opponents could be the improving Rolling d´Heripre (Jean-Michel Bazire) and Ready Cash (Jos Verbeeck), both 5yo´s and thus relative youngsters. We will go along with the proven experience of Meaulnes du Corta.
