German runners at Deauville

Another big card at Deauville with 12 races (4 in the morning and 8 in the main session) but less quality than yesterday. German raiders did quite well yesterday with a winner and several placed horses here, and 5 German-trained runners today will attempt to improve on this record. Beltana (Sascha Smrczek/ Gaetan Masure) in the fillies race over 1900 metres at 14.10 possibly has the best chance.

Smrczek also saddles Rassima (Eric Wehrel) in the 1300 metres for jeunes jockeys at 12.10, while the same jockey partners Blue Citadel for Mario Hofer in the 2400 metres claimer at 15.45. With Charitonas (Axel Kleinkorres/ Romain Perruchot) and Jasmines Hero (Heinz Hesse/ F Panicucci) there are 2 German runners in the jeunes jockeys race over 1900 metres at 13.05, but this looks quite tough.
