N.H. racing at Leicester, Market Rasen and Wincanton

There are some small fields this afternoon at Wincanton and Market Rasen, and at the latter track only 5 turn out for the main event, a novices handicap chase over 3 miles 1 furlong at 15.25 CET. Despite that it is quite a tricky event and our preference is for Bay Cherry (Howard Johnson/ Denis O´Regan), an easy winner at Kelso last time, and on that form he holds top weight and main danger Fabalu (Donald McCain/ Jason Maguire). There are also only 5 runners in the beginners chase at 15.45 at Wincanton, where the interesting runner is Aux le Bahnn (Noel Chance/ Jack Doyle), unbeaten in 3 starts over hurdles last season and now making his debut over fences. The 3 mile handicap chase here at14.45 should lie between the consistent Master Overseer (David Pipe/ Hadden Frost) and Skippers Lad (Colin and Joe Tizzard), while Isabel Tompsett, one of the best lady jockeys over jumps, can win the handicap hurdle at 15.15 on another consistent performer Sweet World for Bernard Llewellyn. David Pipe sends his main jockey Tom Scudamore to Leicester, where the fields are bigger but the quality lower, and they can take the handicap hurdle at 16.35 with last week´s very easy winner Quinte du Chatelet. Best rtace here is th novice hurdle at 15.35; the German-bred Kristallo has been in the money on both British starts but faces a stiff task here.
