All-weather racing at Lingfield and Kempton

there is also all-weather racing at a very modest level indeed this afternoon at Lingfield and this evening at Kempton. Gary Moore has several fancied runners at Lingfield and can take the maiden race over 10 furlongs at 16.05 CET with the consistent Shakalaka (George Baker), who has finished in the money on his last 7 starts.

Obviously the unraced Zerzura (Jimmy Quinn), from the powerful Henry Cecil stable must be respected, as well as Chanrossa (Ed Dunlop/ Jim Crowley) who has several decent CD performances to his credit. The mile handicap here half an hour later could lie between the two top-weights Dens Gift (Clive Cox/ Adam Kirby) and Pegasus Again (Terry Mills/ Joe Fanning), both CD specialists. At Kempton the two best races are sprint handicaps. The 12yo The Tatling (Milton Bradley/ Jack Dean) has top weight in the 5 furlongs event at 20.20; in his old form he would win this doing handsprings, but he is no longer so reliable, and preference is for Bertoliver (Stuart Williams/ William Carson) and Excellent Show (Brian Smart/ Tom Eaves), just beaten this CD last time.

Smart and Eaves also have a live candidate for the 6 furlongs race at 21.50 with the lightly-raced 3yo Zegna, moving up into handicap company after an easy maiden win this CD last time. Capone (Roger Curtis/ Hayley Turner) ran well in better company at Wolverhampton on Monday; before that he had defeated Vhujon (David Evans/ Paul Doe) over this CD, but the latter reopposes on 6 lbs better terms and may be able to take his revenge.
