Fontwell and Market Rasen

The ground will be very heavy at Fontwell today, where the main event is the Southern Grand National over 3 1/2 miles at 16.10. Peut Etre Sivola (David Pipe/ Tom Scudamore) is fancied here after winning at Chepstow last time, but Rebel Melody (Charlie Mann/ Peter Toole), who fell then, is now much better at the weights. However we like the look of L´Aventure (Nick Williams/ Nick Scholfield), who is at his best when the mud is flying. The handicap hurdle at 15.35 sees the return of Mont Present (Philip Hobbs/ Rhys Flint), who has not run since scoring here a year ago, but on recent form Dontpaytheferryman (Brian Ellison/ Kyle James) can be preferred. Ferdy Murphy and Graham Lee, who teamed up with great effect at Cheltenham yesterday, can be back on the scoring board at Market Rasen, where De Boitron is our choice for the 2 1/2 mile handicap chase at 15.10, and also have a chance with April San (having his first race for 19 months) in the novice handicap chase at 15.45, while Lee also has prospects with Edwin Tuer´ s Sphinx in the handicap hurdle at 14.35.
