Catterick, Folkestone and Leicester

It is raining in many parts of the U.K. today, the first rain in weeks, which could cause problems with the going and there are quite likely to be several non-runners. The main event at Leicester, a handicap for 3yo´s over 1 1 /2 miles at 17.10 CET has now cut up to only 3 runners, and the Queen´s Highland Glen (Sir Michael Stoute/ Ryan Moore), who won at Kempton last time, is likely to start at very short odds. There are only 4 runners in the main supporting race here,a conditions race for 2yo´s over 10 furlongs at 16,10 and we expect Frankie Dettori´s mount Al Ghazal to continue Godolphin´s excellent winning run. The fields are bigger. but the quality much poorer, in the other two meetings in England today. Trainer Roger Charlton has sent his stable jockey Steve Drowne to Folkestone and they can collect with Zero Money in the 7 furlongs handicap at 15.50.

We Have a Dream (Willie Muir/ Martin Dwyer) and Squad (Simon Dow/ Louis-Philippe Beuzelin) are both in excellent form and can take the handicaps at 16.50 and 17.50 respectively. At Catterick, the 1 1/2 mile handicap at 18.20 looks the most interesting event. This is quite an open race and we have the consistent Air Maze (Sir Mark Prescott/ Stephen Donohoe), Saloon (Jane Chapple-Hyam/ Jamie Spencer) and African Cheetah (Mark Johnston/ Greg Fairley) as our three against the field.
