Bath, Worcester (N.H.) and Navan (Ireland)

Godolphin have runners at all 3 flat meetings in the U.K. today and have entered Liberty Square and Database in the two divisions of the 2yo mile maiden at Bath at 15.00 CET and 15.30 respectively, both with Ahmed Ajtebi in the saddle. There are several well-bred newcomers in both races, but we expect the Godolphin runners to perform well, especially Database, whose form looks better. The 3yo handicap over an extended 2 miles here at 17.30 looks a rerun of a recent race at Warwick, won by Khayar (Mark Tompkins/ Darryll Holland) with Theologist (Amanda Perrett/ Ryan Moore) third; the latter, though still topweight, is now 3 lbs better off for 2 lengths, so there should be little in it now. There are huge fields at Navan in Ireland today, woth 17+ runners in all races. Aidan O´Brien has entered 5 in the 2yo mile maiden at 15.35, with stable jockey Johnny Murtagh on Flying Cross, the only one of them to have run so far, but in theory he is held by Akinndi (John Oxx/ Mick Kinane) , who finished just in front of him here last time. Sindiyma can complete a double for the Aga Khan in the second division an hour later, while Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen have chances in the final two handicaps with Blue Ridge at 18.05 and Ransomed Bride at 18.35. Now the rain has come, there are also good-sized fields at Worcester´s N.H. meeting. Hayes Princess (Tim Vaughan/ Richard Johnson) should win the mares novice hurdle at 15.20, while Emperor Concerto (Lucy Wadham/ Leighton Aspell) should go well in the maiden hurdle at 16.20; however Jonjo O´Neill´s pair Domos Boy (Noel Fehily) and Hopeful Start (Tony McCoy), both point-to-point winners in Ireland last March, look dangerous. Paul Nicholls and Ruby Walsh combined for a short-priced double at Exeter yesterday, and can have another odds-on winner in the novice chase at 16.50 with Pride of Dulcote, who has only 2 inferior opponents to beat. Nicholls and Walsh also have Superformen in the handicap chase at 17.50, the to p race on the card here, but this looks very tricky.
