Ostland in Auteuil

There are far fewer German runners over jumps in France than there are on the flat, but they have a good strike rate, so it will be interesting to see how Peter Schiergen´s Ostland (Paul Johnson) gets on today when he contests a hurdle race for 4yo´s at 13.20 at Auteuil. Last year´s German Derby runner-up has been a big disappointment on the flat this year, but made a winning debut over hurdles at Baden-Baden. However he faces strong opposition here, notably from Bien et Rose (Cyril Gombeau) and Rhialco (Christophe Pieux)
