German runners at Deauville

The big Deauville meeting continues today, when the main event is a listed race over a mile for 3yo´s at 16.10. Frankie Dettori makes a flying visit to France to ride Godolphin´s Spring of Fame here and has an excellent chance of winning. Ex-German Mantoro (Alain de Royer-Dupré/ Gerald Mossé), 4th in the German 2,000 Guineas, looks the most dangerous opponent, together with Polarix (Henri-Alex Pantall/ Maxime Guyon). There are German-trained runners in two of the supporting events, both races for apprentices and "jeunes jockeys". In a race for 3yo fillies over 1500 metres on the fibregrass track at 15.10, Ravenel (Ralf Rohne/ Flavien Prat) and Liandra (Hans Blume/ Brice Raballand) are the German runners, and at 16.40 Los Llanos (Mario Hofer/ Aurelien Malenfant) and Horse of Course (Doris Smith/ Romain Perruchot) try their luck in a claiming race for 3yo´s over 2400 metres (also PSF). Of these, we think that Ravenel has the best prospects.
