Giganticus won over this CD at the Royal meeting but then flopped at Newmarket in the race won by Plum Pudding. Ca ptain Brilliance (Jeremy Noseda/ Johnny Murtagh) started favourite there and was an unlucky runner-up; he is likely to be favourite again, but there has also been heavy backing for Roaring Forte (William Haggas/ Ryan Moore), controversially withdrawn at the start in the Royal Hunt Cup. Others to consider include Racer Forever (John Gosden/ Jimmy Fortune) and Redford (Michael Bell/ Richard Hughes), close up 5th and 6th in the Newmarket race. The mile handicap for 3yo´s at 16.15 has only 11 runners but looks equally tricky, but we hope to see top-weight Sri Putra (Michael Jarvis/ Philip Robinson) run well; he was 5th in the German 2,000 Guineas last time when he found the going too tacky. The good to firm ground forecast for today should be ideal.
