Kempton (a.w.), Worcester (N.H.) and Killarney (Ireland) this evening

Killarney continues its 4-day summer festival with another mixed card, 3 N.H. races followed by 3 flat races and a bumper. Best race over jumps is the 2 3/4 mile handicap hurdle at 20.00 CET; in a very open race our short list includes top-weight Lucky at Last (P. Martin/ Andrw Thornton), Themoonandsixpence (Willie Mullins/ Ruby Walsh) and Church Island (Michael Hourigan/ Barry Geraghty), who last ran in the Betfred Gold Cup but appears to be better handicapped over hurdles. German-bred Gladiole (Ger Cully/ BA Curtis) has a chance off bottom-weight in the fillies handicap over 1 miles 3 furlongs on the flat at 20.30. She ran her best race in Ireland last time out with this jockey in the saddle. At Kempton this evening, Johnny Portman´s Russian Rave (Richard Kingscote) an easy winner here last time over 7 furlongs, can successfully step up in distance and take the mile handicap for 3yo´s at 21.20. The other 3yo handicap, over 7 furlongs at 21.50, looks much trickier with 14 r unners, but with the Sir Mark Prescott stable now appearing to be hitting form, his lightly-raced Florentia (Seb Sanders) looks the one to be on. Many of the jumps jockeys riding this afternoon at Uttoxeter make their way to Worcester and Tony McCoy has some good rides booked, in particular ex-German Sam Whiskey at 22.10. Blinkered for the first time, he won well last time out and if the blinkers work again for the Jonjo O´Neill trained gelding he can win again under a 3 lbs penalty.
