Ascot Summer Mile

The best race in Britain and Ireland today is the Group Two Summer Mile at 15.50 CET at Ascot, in which Cesare (James Fanshawe/ Jamie Spencer) and Aqlaam (William Haggas/ Richard Hills) renew rivalry after finishing 2nd and 3rd to Paco Boy over this CD at the Royal meeting. Cesare is given preference, as he won this race 2 years ago and is an absolute CD specialist.

New opposituonb comes from Imbongi (Mike de Kock/ Kevin Shea), an easy Group Three winner at Newmarket last time, who holds Dream Eater (Andrew Balding/ Liam Keniry) on that form; however the latter, whose stable is in tremendous form, should not be entirely discounted. It could be a good afternoon for Fanshawe and Spencer, who can also land the valuable fillies handicap over the straight mile at 17.00 with top-weight Alsace Lorraine, an easy winner of both her starts this season.
