Rest of UK and Ireland

Obviously the rest of today´s racing pales into insignificance beside Epsom´s top-class card, but it is interesting that several of the leading jockeys also ride this evening. The listed race over 1 1/2 miles at 20.20 CET at Goodwood has only 6 runners, but is a fascinating affair, with Mad Rush (Luca Cumani/ Ryan Moore), beaten favourite in last November´s Melbourne Cup, and Crime Scene (Saeed bin Suroor/ Frankie Dettori), beaten only a neck by Eastern Anthem in Dubai last time out, in the line-up. While Goodwood is close to the south coast, several jockeye also make their way west to Bath´s evening meeting, where William Buick can win the 5 furlongs handicap for 3yo´s on Andrew Balding´s Celestial Dream. There is also racing this afternoon at Catterick (some small fields) and Wolverhampton (all-weather), and this evening at Doncaster, when there is also Irish racing at Cork (N.H.) and Navan (flat)
