Ireland this evening

Easily the best racing of the day takes place at Leopardstown´s evening meeting, where the main feature is the Group 3 Ballyogan Stakes for fillies and mares over 6 furlongs. 4 of the 10 runners are 3yo´s and they could well hold the whip hand. Pursuit of Glory (David Wachman/ Johnny Murtagh) has been running in top races and has been dropped in grade here; she had no chance in the 1,000 Guineas but must be feared in this company. Maoineach (Jim Bolger/ Kevin Manning) and Sugar Free (Tommy Stack/ Wayne Lordan) could also be dangerous, while the sole British raider Lesson in Humility (Karl Burke/ Andrew Elliott) looks the clear best of the older brigade. Festival Princess (Jssica Harrington/ Rory Cleary) showed her best ever form last time when beaten a head in a Group 3 and that form gives her an excellent chance in the listed race over a mile at 21.30. Shreyas (Bolger/ Manning) is going back in distance, but looks the main danger. Harrington also has a chance of winning the beginners chase at 19.15 at Tipperary with Farinelli (Robbie Power), but this is an interesting contest with several potentially useful performers, including Ebaziyan, Schindlers Gold and German-bred Negus.
