German runners at Saint-Cloud

There have been very mixed results for German raiders in France the past few weeks, and today 6 German-trained runners try their luck at Saint-Cloud, but it does not look easy. The main feature is a listed race over 3000 metres at 15.35, in which Dr. Bolte´s Caudillo (Thierry Jarnet) carries top weight as a result of his group victory at Baden-Baden a year ago; that form would be good enough, but his performances since have been mainly disappointing. The one to beat is probably the Wildenstein stable´s Blek (Elli Lellouche/ Antony Crastus), who has won 4 of his last 5 starts, 2 of them here. Werner Baltromei is finding it much harder to win races in France this season than in previous years, but tries again with Canall (William Mongil) in the 3yo maiden over 2400 metres at 14.35 and Solitary (Dominique Boeuf) in the fillies´ version half an hour later. Brass Damask (Peter Schiergen/ Johan Victoire) and Gainsbury (Pavel Vovcenko/ Christophe Soumillon) both go for the 1400 metr es claimer at 17.05, in whicn there are 20 runners.
