Rest of Newmarket

It´s Ladies Day at Newmarket, as, apart from the Guineas, the main supporting races are also restricted to fillies. It is unusual for Michael Stoute and Cheveley Park Stud to keep a 6yo mare in training, and their Heaven Sent (Ryan Moore) has an obvious chance of repeating her 2008 victory in the Group 3 race over 9 furlongs at 15.35 CET. Barshiba (David Elsworth/ Richard Hughes) finished behind her last year and will probably do so again. The listed race over 10 furlongs for 3yo fillies at 18.00 looks quite tricky. Natural Flair (Peter Chapple-Hyam/ Alan Munro) and Three Moons (Harry Dunlop/ Frankie Dettori) have both won maiden races very easily this spring, but now face better opposition, notably the Queen´s Golden Stream (Stoute/ Moore) and Take the Hint (Gosden/ Fortune), both seasonal debutants who looked promising last year. The handicaps here are always very open, but Hatton Flight (Andrew Balding/ William Buick) is very reliable and can complete a hat-trick in the 1 1/2 mile race at 15.00, while the 6 furlongs handicap at 16.50 has 21 runners; our the against the field are the top-weights Prohibit (Gosden/ Fortune), Oldjoesaid (Henry Candy/ Fergus Sweeney) and Carleton (Willie Musson/ Chris Catlin).
