Nottingham, Yarmouth and Musselburgh this afternoon

Tuesday is often the worst day of the week as far as quality racing is concerned, and today is no exception. Of the 20 races run this afternoon, only the class 4 fillies handicap over 10 furlongs at 17.00 CET is better than class 5. Top-weights Pollys Mark (Clive Cox/ Philip Robinson) and Onemix (Barry and Michael Hills) look the main contenders, but Act Green (Michael Bell/ Jamie Spencer) could be dangerous now the stable has come into form. At Yarmouth it is significant that Frankie Dettori makes the short journey from Newmarket for just one ride- Godolphin´s Izaaj on the 6 furlong 2yo maiden at 15.10. Clan Piper (John Gosden/ Jimmy Fortune) looks the main danger in the Princess Haya colours.

Also at Yarmouth, German-bred 8yo Grey Boy has a good each-way chance in the 7 furlongs handicap at 15.40. He usually runs well here and was not disgraced in a hot handicap at Ascot last time. At Musselburgh, the 5 furlongs race for maidens at 17.20 looks the most interesting race. On form, La Zamora (David Barron/ Phlllip Makin), placed on both career starts so far, and Mo Mhuirnin (Richard Fahey/ Paul Hanagan), but once-raced and well-bred Fatal Attraction (Rae Guest/ Richard Mullen) could well improve past them both.
