Goodwood and Newton Abbot (N.H.) this afternoon

There is also racing this afternoon from Goodwood and Newton Abbot, and the most interesting event could be the class 2 race for 2yo´s at 15.20 CET at Goodwood, although there are only 4 runners. One of them is Star Rover (David and Richard Evans), who won the Lily Agnes at Chester only yesterday That was his 4th win, making him easily the most successful 2yo so far of 2009 and a repetition of yesterday´s form should see him capable
of conceding the weight to Grand Zafeen (Mick Channon/ Tony Culhane) and Desert Auction (Richard Hannon/ Richard Hughes), both last-time-out winners, but at a much lower level. Some of the top N.H. jockeys are in action at Newton Abbot, and Ruby Walsh can win two races for Paul Nicholls - the maiden hurdle at 16.05 with Quell the Storm - has German-bred Vacario to beat - and the handicap hurdle at 17.20 with Classic Swain. The latter event is quite hot, and German-bred Stellino (Nicky Henderson/ Tony McCoy) and French Saulauie (Philip Hobbs/ Richard Johnson) are just 2 of several dangers.
