Chester: Final day

The third and final day of the Chester May meeting features two Group 3 races, the Dee Stakes for 3yo´s over 10 furlongs at 15.15 CET and the Ormonde Stakes for older horses over 1 mile 5 furlongs at 15.40. It would come as no great surprise to see Aidan O´Brien and Johnny Murtagh win both races; the stable is now in top form and has already won two group races at the meeting (in one case with the wrong one!) . In the Dee Stakes their representative Drumbeat needs to step up on his last form in the U.K.. but this seems highly likely; the Queen´s hope Free Agent is a non-runner, so Big Bound (John Gosden/ Jimmy Fortune) and Libel Law (Michael Jarvis/ Frankie Dettori) look the main dangers.

The Ballydoyle runner in the Ormonde Stakes is the German-bred Frozen Fire; he was undoubtedly lucky to win last year´s Irish Derby, but even so, that form should be good enough. Enroller (Willie Muir/ Martin Dwyer) and Buccellatti (Andrew Balding/ William Buick) can follow him home. With Hamdan al Maktoum enjoying a tremendous run of success, it can be expected that his two runners in the 3yo maiden fillies race at 17.00, Balaagha (Michael Jarvis/ Richard Hills) and Massilah (Barry and Michael Hills) can take the first two places.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Mister Hardy - Celtic Sultan - Noble Citizen
2. Race: Drumbeat - Big Bound - Gitano Hernando
3. Race: Frozen Fire - Buccellati - All The Aces
4. Race: Green Beret - City Dancer - Noble Storm
5. Race: Balaagha - Massilah - Miss Tango Hotel
6. Race: Empowered - Red Merlin - Aphrodisia
