Rest of Britain and Ireland

There are also 2 listed races today, a 5 furlongs race at Naas at 17.20 CET and a mile event at Doncaster at 19.15. The Irish race is much the better and has attrracted a good field, including Benbaum, the Abbaye winner of 2007. He is one of 4 British raiders and is having his first race for new trainer Kevin Ryan. However the Irish defence may be strong enough and is hadd by Le Carre Noir (Dermot Weld/ Pat Smullen) and Snaefell (Mike Halford/ Robbie Cleary). Ar Doncastr, King of Dixi (Wioöf Knight/ Jim Crowly), an imprssiv winnr on th all-wrathjr last tim, can now follow upon turf. At Bangor, Milton Harris runs 2 Ex-German runners Federstar at 15.40 and Speedy Directa at 15.50 with Charlie Poste in the saddle, and they could repay each-way interest. The 6 furlongs conditions race at 16.35 at Thirsk has only 4 runners but still looks tricky. Knot in Wood ran a good race at Newmarket on Wednesday, but may not be able to give the weight to Wi Dud and Hitchens. At Nottingham´s e vening meeting, Mt Kintyre (Mark Tompkins/ Saleem Golam) can make up for his bad luck last time at Pontefract and defeat Henry Cecil´s At a Great Rate (Tom Queally).
