German runners in France today

Plenty of German runners in France today, especially at Nancy, where there is an early start. There are no fewer than 8 German-trained entries in the opening race for 3yo´s over 1950 metres at 12.35 (!), of which the best is probably French Kiss (Norbert Sauer/ Henk Grewe). There are also 3 German runners over hurdles at 13.35, Mario Hofer´s pair Viper (Julian Marinov) and Something Stupid (Paul Johnson) as well as Christian von der Recke´s Il Grand Ardone (Jan Korpas). The main meeting in France today is at Chantilly, where there are 2 listed races. The 3yo race over 2000 metres at 15.20 has only 4 runners, but the 1200 metres race half an hour later is much more competitive, with German hopes Earl of Fire (Werner Baltromei/ Jerome Lermyte) and Best Joking (Werner Hefter/ Johan Victoire) facing some tough opposition.
