Craven Stakes at Newmarket

The Craven Stakes over a mile for 3yo´s at 16.35 CET at Newmarkt this afternoon is usually a reliable
trial for the 2,000 Guineas, and Brian Meehan´s Delegator (Jamie Spenser) looks certain to start a warm favourit. He has been well backed for the first classic, has the highest rating here and his fifth place in the Dewhurst last October is the best form on offer. However it will be no cakewalk, and the opposition is headed by Godolphin´s City Style (Saeed bin Suroor/ Frankie Dettori), a winner twice at Nad al Sheba, while the unnbatn Sans Frontiers (Jeremy Noseda/ Johnny Murtagh) should not be overlooked; Sir Michael Stoute´s Glass Harmonium (Ryan Moore) is another to be considered, while the Hills family had a great day here yesterday and are represented by the smart Alyarf. Delegator must win this to maintain his position in the Guineas betting, but will have to run up to his best form to do so.
